Decal reference

There's been a wide variety of decorations applied to these instruments. The early ones were quite lovely, often incorporating a thin foil to simulate gold leaf. There is usally some decoration around the soundhole and a separate decoration elsewhere on the soundboard. The end cover or hand rest also received a decoration, usuall on instruments associated with the Phonoharp Co.

It's generally possible to associate a particular decal with a particular manufacturer, but there are a number of intriguing exceptions that keep things interesting. The following pages show known decals, grouped roughly by manufacturer, with some information on what combinations of decorations have appeared. Later there will be links to full information on which instruments used which decals.
